Confirmation is one of three Sacraments of Initiation along with Baptism and Eucharist. Celebration of these three Sacraments makes us fully initiated Catholic Christians. Full initiation is required to be a sponsor for Baptism and Confirmation and for participation in some of the liturgical ministries. In Confirmation we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and strengthened with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Following the necessary faith formation and integration into the parish faith community, catechized baptized Catholics will be Confirmed in the midst of the church community by a bishop at Pentecost at the Cathedral or in the parish; people who were baptized in another Christian tradition will make a profession of faith and celebrate Confirmation in the parish church with a priest in the midst of the parish church community.
