Baptism
of Children and Youth
Unbaptized
youth who
are 8 years or older are prepared for the Sacraments of
Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) through a
process of instruction and liturgical rites - the Rites of
Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) adapted for children
of catechetical age. Older children and youth who were
baptized in another Christian tradition are also brought into
the Catholic Church family through this R.C.I.A. process. We
expect parents along with sponsors to participate in some
meetings and some sessions with their children. We assist
parents in determining fitting sponsors/godparents for their
children.

The
initiation rites also strive to rekindle the faith of the
whole parish, to communicate and clarify our Catholic
tradition, and to build our identity as a community united by
faith in Jesus Christ.
This
program also needs team members as leaders and companions to
accompany, instruct and share their faith with young
participants on their journey toward full initiation and
communion with the Church.
We
need and welcome your participation and support! |
